PAUSE is a French national program allocating incentive funding to public research organisations and public academic institutions supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the Ministry of Culture, and Private Higher Education Institutions of General Interest (EESPIG) for the purpose of welcoming scientists in exile.
This funding is intended to co-finance a hosting project for one foreign scientist from any geographical location or scientific discipline, fulfilling all of the following eligibility criteria:
- To be able to prove his/her status as an academic or researcher (doctoral student, postdoctoral fellow, confirmed researcher) of any academic discipline;
- Being in an emergency situation: persecuted or abused because of his/her identity, beliefs or sexual orientation etcetera, or another type of threat (to be specified);
- Regardless of the present place of residency, being forced into exile from his/her country of origin or having left the country of origin within less than 3 years.
