Diversity Abroad and CISI are proud to award planning scholarships to students of diverse backgrounds at Diversity Network Member institutions. Planning scholarships are an opportunity to provide students with scholarship funds that will help them make the decision to study abroad. The awards, for $1,500 each, will be awarded to students to study abroad in the Fall the following year, and may be used to cover expenses for which financial aid is not readily available such as passports and visas, flights, program deposits, etc. The students do not need to have selected a study abroad program at the time of receiving this scholarship.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Must demonstrate financial need (as demonstrated by your FAFSA)
  • Must be a freshman, sophomore, or junior at the time of application
  • Preference given to students who have not studied abroad before
  • Students of diverse and underrepresented backgrounds encouraged to apply

Agencies Involved: Diversity Abroad, CISI

Key Dates: Applications are typically due in November of each year
